Rolling Stone: Army ordered use of psy-ops tactics on Congress

Michael Hastings, the reporter whose profile of Gen. Stanley McChrystal forced him to resign his command of forces in Afghanistan, is out with a new blockbuster in Rolling Stone. This time he details the U.S. Army’s effort to used psychological warfare tactics against members of the U.S. Congress, in violation of U.S. law:

The U.S. Army illegally ordered a team of soldiers specializing in “psychological operations” to manipulate visiting American senators into providing more troops and funding for the war, Rolling Stone has learned – and when an officer tried to stop the operation, he was railroaded by military investigators.
